Subject: Epson Printer Problems

Hello Everyone,

I have an Epson Stylus CX4800 printer. I have been using generic
printing cartridges that I have been buying off Ebay for years. I
have always used Epson printers, because they have always been work
horses for me.

I have a fairly new printer and went to put in a Black refill
cartridge only to get a message that the printer does not recognize
it. It has the same code # required by the printer and came out of
the same batch of ones that I have bought off Ebay that worked before.

I figured that the cartridge might have been a dud, so I turned off
the printer and computer and started over again putting in a new
replacement. Then, I am getting a message that the printer does not
recognize any of the 4 cartridges in my printer...yellow, cyan,
magenta and black.
They are all from different generic companies and have worked before
many times for years.

My question is how do I fix the problem. Is it possible that Epson
put some block through some software update on accepting generic
cartridges in their printers?

Just Curious,
Sean
