I'm not sure whether my question was already discussed here, but I
wasn't able to find it out. So, I'm sorry if I ask something which was
already answered.

My problem is that Google Desktop shows removed files, even files
which I have removed long time ago (> 20 month). In the preferences,
the setting "show removed files" is already switched off.
Nevertheless, Google Desktop shows still removed files. More annoying
is the fact that Google Desktop shows some of the files in multiple
results, although there is only one file on the hard drive. Perhaps
these are older versions of the file. But it is somehow stupid to list
them, because they don't exist anymore.

What can I do to prevent multiple results of the same file and of
removed files?
