The very first thing you should check is this:
1. Drag Word and Entourage onto your Dock if it isn't on it already.
(I assume it is)
2. Right-click, Ctrl-click, or place two fingers on your trackpad and
clicking, and uncheck "Open at login"
3. Log out, then log back in to check that it doesn't start up again.
If it does, restart your computer. If the problem is still persistent,
contact an Apple Genius.
