Jason Toff's post about the availability of Google.com/mac in a number
of new languages incorrectly identified the zh-TW version of the site
as being in "Taiwanese." Taiwanese is used to refer to the language
spoken by the majority of Taiwan's residents, also known as Hoklo or
Southern Min. However, this is not the official language of Taiwan and
is not the language used on zh-TW web pages. That language is
Mandarin, the same as the google.cn/mac page. The main difference is
that one uses simplified characters and the other uses traditional
Chinese full-form characters. There are sometimes some slight
dialectical differences in the vocabulary and grammar, but they are
essentially the same language. The proper way of referring to zh-TW
would be as "Taiwanese Mandarin" or Chinese (Traditional).
