  There is no change in fan speed here when I start picasa. I am pretty &lt;br&gt; sure that picasa has no control over the fan speed so the only thing &lt;br&gt; that could be causing the increase in fan speed is increased CPU &lt;br&gt; activity. You need to look at the setup. Check what folders picasa in &lt;br&gt; monitoring and if you have a lot of activity in those ( like say you

  I monitor my fans religiously in my iMac. I see absolutely no &lt;br&gt; difference in the fan speeds when running Picasa. I&#39;m using version &lt;br&gt; 3.0.3, released yesterday (1/30/2009).

  I&#39;ve noticed this as well. I love picasa, but the fan noise is &lt;br&gt; strange, I can tell it is using a lot of processor resources in my &lt;br&gt; &amp;quot;processes&amp;quot; screen. Food for thought.

  That&#39;s true. There is a trick you can do to enable this without iPhone &lt;br&gt; (Google is your friend). :-) &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Anyway, the fact is Google and the Mac Address Book (MAB) do not sync &lt;br&gt; very good... Birthdays are missing, photos too, there are some address &lt;br&gt; duplicates as well as e-mails... &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;For now it is not fully functional... :-(

  I have previously used Picasa 3 on a PC, and it has created a bunch of &lt;br&gt; folders inside my folders named Originals. When I now add folders to &lt;br&gt; watch over it finds the Originals folders and shows them as &lt;br&gt; independent folders. This is kinda annoying.

  Whenever I have Picasa 3 started on my mac (osx 10.5.6) my fan starts &lt;br&gt; going faster, and stays around 6200 rpm until I quit the program. When &lt;br&gt; Picasa is turned of the fan runs typically at 1800.. This is quite &lt;br&gt; annoying and should be fixed.
