My Google for Mac gives this message frequently in other Mac programs
running: "The Google Program Google Desktop MAC has unexpectedly
quit...". Choose to click on CANCEL or SEND A REPORT. Can Google or
Apple fix this annoyance?

There is no change in fan speed here when I start picasa. I am pretty
sure that picasa has no control over the fan speed so the only thing
that could be causing the increase in fan speed is increased CPU
activity. You need to look at the setup. Check what folders picasa in
monitoring and if you have a lot of activity in those ( like say you

I monitor my fans religiously in my iMac. I see absolutely no
difference in the fan speeds when running Picasa. I'm using version
3.0.3, released yesterday (1/30/2009).

I've noticed this as well. I love picasa, but the fan noise is
strange, I can tell it is using a lot of processor resources in my
"processes" screen. Food for thought.

That's true. There is a trick you can do to enable this without iPhone
(Google is your friend). :-)

Anyway, the fact is Google and the Mac Address Book (MAB) do not sync
very good... Birthdays are missing, photos too, there are some address
duplicates as well as e-mails...

For now it is not fully functional... :-(

Any intention to have this plugin available to the newly released

Picasa 3 for mac: Finds the Originals folders

I have previously used Picasa 3 on a PC, and it has created a bunch of
folders inside my folders named Originals. When I now add folders to
watch over it finds the Originals folders and shows them as
independent folders. This is kinda annoying.

Whenever I have Picasa 3 started on my mac (osx 10.5.6) my fan starts
going faster, and stays around 6200 rpm until I quit the program. When
Picasa is turned of the fan runs typically at 1800.. This is quite
annoying and should be fixed.
